Why This Role Matters As the Tool Crib Lead, you’re not just handing out tools—you’re enabling accuracy, speed, and safety across the entire operation. Your machining background and tool crib expertise will be essential and highly valued. You'll ensure machinists, operators, and field teams have exactly what they need to work efficiently and safely.
Requirements 3–5 years of tool crib, machining, or machine operator experience—this is strongly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
Knowledge of carbide drills, end mills, inserted cutters, boring tools, and other precision tooling.
Comfort using Microsoft Office and inventory systems.
Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
What You’ll Do
Receive, store, issue, and track tools and project equipment.
Maintain organized, calibrated, and reliable tool inventory.
Select, stage, and prepare tooling for shop and field machining jobs.
Read blueprints and job specs to anticipate tooling needs.
Advise machinists and technicians on tool usage and specialty tooling applications.
Serve as the subject‑matter expert for cutting tools, inserts, and machining components.
Train team members on procedures, safety, and best practices.
Promote an efficient, organized, and safety‑focused work environment.
Load/unload trucks and manage shipping/receiving tasks.
Identify process improvements and cost‑saving opportunities.
