Overview
Community Manager - High-Rise Residential
Location: Astoria/Queens/Long Island City area
Work Model: On-site with standard business hours (availability outside 9-5 as needed)
Compensation: $100,000-$125,000 + comprehensive benefits
Role Responsibilities & Required Experience
Oversee daily operations, resident relations, and overall community experience for a large New York residential property (750+ units), collaborating closely with on-site management, operations, and maintenance teams
Bring 10+ years of proven community or property management experience in a large-scale NYC residential setting, with strong working knowledge of building operations, maintenance coordination, and NYC real estate regulations
Manage Accounts Receivable with a focus on rent collections, delinquency reduction, and accurate entry of lease charges; prepare budgets, forecasts, and detailed financial reporting (budgets vs. actuals)
Manage move-ins, move-outs, unit turnovers, resident retention initiatives, and lease renewals while ensuring policy compliance and high customer service standards
Handle resident issues professionally and empathetically, including difficult situations and enforcement of policies, while remaining calm under pressure and during emergencies
Track performance metrics, create reports on short timelines, and maintain a high level of organization using Yardi or similar property management software, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Monitor and respond to online reviews and resident feedback platforms to protect and enhance the property's reputation
Experience with affordable housing programs such as Section 8, LIHTC, City FHEPS, or similar is preferred, along with the ability to prioritize, adapt, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
