Role Overview The Finance/Office Manager oversees the dealership’s day‑to‑day accounting and office operations in a fast‑paced automotive environment. This role blends strategic financial management with hands‑on accounting, leads both the office and accounting teams, ensures accurate records, cash flow, compliance, and strong internal controls, and works closely with department managers. As the financial backbone of the dealership, you will provide timely insights to support leadership decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Review daily bank accounts, including vehicle payoffs, cash, credit card payments, and payroll items, ensuring accuracy and timely posting
Generate and review the Daily Operating Control (DOC) to provide a snapshot of prior day sales, gross profit, cash positions, and operational metrics
Monitor cash flow and optimize working capital to ensure smooth financing of inventory and operational needs
Oversee month‑end close and prepare complete financial statements, schedules, and composites for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Monitor and maintain strong internal controls across sales, service, parts, and F&I; troubleshoot discrepancies and implement corrective actions
Lead, supervise, and develop office and accounting staff, including hiring, training, performance feedback, and workload prioritization
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, deal posting, titling paperwork, DMV remittances, and other administrative processes while maintaining proper documentation
Audit new and used vehicle inventory and ensure compliance with factory requirements, state regulations, and dealer policies, coordinate with department managers on warranty submissions and parts inventory
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve accuracy and efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction
Support dealership leadership with special projects, ad‑hoc reporting, and initiatives to strengthen financial and operational performance

GAAP and standard accounting principles, including preparation of financial statements and analysis financial reports
Financial recordkeeping with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Problem‑solving and analytical thinking to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
Excellent written and verbal communication for collaborating with department managers and leadership
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload during high‑volume periods and month‑end close
Qualifications
3–5 years of accounting and office management experience in a franchised automotive dealership
Demonstrated success leading and developing office or accounting teams
Solid understanding of GAAP with proficiency in Dealership Management Systems (DMS) such as CDK Global or Reynolds & Reynolds; Excel, and document management
Experience managing cash flow, dealership floor plans, and financial reporting
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem‑solving abilities, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
High level of integrity, professionalism, and customer‑focused service aligned with Stocker Auto’s values

$70,000–$90,000 depending on experience
