EntertainmentNow.com, the premium entertainment news destination from the makers of Heavy.com, is seeking fast and relentless freelancers who know how to spot the biggest stories in entertainment and help reporters turn them into pageviews.
Successful candidates will independently and aggressively find the most compelling stories across a range of celebrity and entertainment topics and turn them into clickable headlines that writers can run with, fast. When appropriate, the Tipping & Headline Specialist will also send breaking news emails to reach our readers while the news is fresh.
Tipping & Headline Specialists must be comfortable spotting stories through a variety of methods (podcasts, social media, TV, other outlets, exclusives, etc.), using Google Chat communication, sending emails via Campaign Monitor, and creating simple yet eye‑catching images for stories.
If you live for the rush of breaking news, can move quickly, think creatively, turn a viral trend into a must‑click headline and thrive in a high‑volume digital newsroom, we want to hear from you.
We’re looking for people to fill these timeslots:
6 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET Monday through Friday
9 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET Saturday and Sunday
9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. ET Sunday through Wednesday nights
9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. ET Thursday through Saturday nights
Tipping & Headline Specialists will tip across all EntertainmentNow categories and be expected to watch specific shows for tips during their timeslots.
This is a remote, freelance role. Compensation includes a base rate per timeslot as well as a performance‑based component that scales with pageviews.
