Overview
WWAY, the ABC, CBS and CW affiliate in southeastern North Carolina, is seeking a Web Content Producer/Meteorologist to help manage the station’s web and social media presence while also serving as an on-air meteorologist. Primary responsibilities include writing and publishing stories for the website and digital platforms, monitoring news releases and social media, entering original digital content, and ensuring content is optimized using SEO best practices. The role also includes tracking what is driving online traffic and pitching trending story ideas during morning and afternoon editorial meetings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AP style and, as an on-air meteorologist, will perform all duties including developing forecasts, creating weather graphics, and regularly updating weather content across web and social platforms.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in meteorology is preferred.
Experience with Baron Lynx weather system, ENPS, and Edius is a plus.
Responsibilities

Enterprising original digital content and optimizing content for SEO.
