Position requires availability to work Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with additional hours as needed.
SUMMARY
Under the guidance and direction of the assigned manager or supervisor, the ACC Underwriter evaluates and underwrites credit card requests submitted through the credit card origination system and via paper-based credit card applications. The ACC Underwriter approves or declines credit card requests based on current policy and guidelines. The incumbent works with customers, Arvest Bank, lenders and agent bank contacts to decision requests within the established credit criteria. The ACC Underwriter documents and escalates exceptions to the assigned manager. The ACC Underwriter reviews and evaluates reissuing credit cards, credit line increase requests and provides problem resolution to customers and associates regarding their credit card inquiries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Using established underwriting guidelines, policies and procedures, make credit decisions regarding credit card applications. Prepare proposals to support approval recommendations for requests in excess of assigned lending authority. Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of credit card products and services at a detailed level to serve as subject matter expert for bank associates and customers. Ensure accurate and consistent decisions based on underwriting guidelines, policies and procedures while achieving defined Service Level Agreement (SLA) for application processing. Review and evaluate reissuing credit card accounts that have been closed or have not met reissue criteria. Review and evaluate credit card line increase applications and approve line increases when applicants meet acceptable criteria. Provide problem resolution to customers and bank associates regarding credit card financial questions. Provide accurate and timely responses to emails, telephone calls and voice mail messages, consulting Credit Card Senior Underwriter or ACC Credit Manager as needed. Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank\'s BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience required. Degree concentration in business, accounting, finance, economics, or mathematics preferred. 2 years of experience in consumer lending/credit underwriting or Bachelor’s degree required. Degree concentration in business, accounting, finance, economics, or mathematics preferred. Experience in credit card or bank operations preferred. Technical knowledge of State and Federal Laws and regulations pertaining to open-ended lending preferred. Arvest experience preferred.
