Description The Assistant Interior Designer will assist with preparing designs, editing specifications, and preparing conceptual estimates for interior work, repair, and/or renovation of government, airport, and commercial-related facilities.

Assists in preparation of designs, quantity calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for interiors of aviation and/or federal facilities.

Performs interior design assignments to meet project deliverables.

Assists in compiling data, provides elementary design computations, assist with preparation of internal design plans and renderings.

Assists with furniture purchasing and reconfiguration.

Assists in researching interior design products to make recommendations to the manager.

Assists with color, finish, and material research and selection.

Assists with recommending new ideas, formulas and methods.

Assists in construction administration activities through site visits and review of payment applications.

Assists with maintaining conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes.

Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.

Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or similar field Required or

Master Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or similar field Required

Prior internship and/or related experience Preferred

Portfolio demonstrating design and graphic presentation skills is preferred.

Basic knowledge of standard interior design concepts.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a problem-solving environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.

Basic software and computer skills required, including BIM (Revit), Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering software.

Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, and organization.

Demonstrated leadership skills.

Valid driver's license Required
