Sr Director, Product & Platform Central Finance

Position Overview : Reporting to the Head of Corporate and Product Finance, the Senior Director for Product & Platform Central Finance will enable world‑class strategic and operational business partnering, financial planning and forecasting, as well as financial insights across five product and platform finance teams. This leader will achieve this through creating consistent approaches, constantly raising the bar on the support finance should provide to product and platform business partners, and creating efficiencies by centralizing, standardizing and automating processes common across the teams. The right candidate will partner with C‑Level executives and peer finance leaders supporting the Autodesk product and platform teams, collaborate closely with other finance leaders in FP&A, accounting, tax, IR and treasury, and attract, develop and retain world‑class corporate finance talent.

Location : San Francisco, CA (preferred), or any US/Canada location willing to work West Coast hours.

Responsibilities

  • Spend management: Centralize, standardize and automate headcount and spend processes such as forecasting, closing and spend analytics; simplify and delete steps where feasible.
  • Topline reporting and analytics: Drive consistent product‑level topline reporting, forecasting, root‑cause analytics to support timely performance insights and decision‑making; provide unit‑economics reporting for QBRs; develop consistent allocation and methodology; work with technology teams to evolve data availability and reporting.
  • Pricing and packaging financial analytics: Establish and evolve pricing and packaging analysis playbooks to support pricing and promotion decisions; ensure access to relevant cost and topline data; share findings with executives and influence decisions.
  • Strategic and annual planning: Develop processes and templates for Autodesk’s long‑range and annual planning; manage the finance calendar; program‑manage and review outputs to ensure world‑class quality; consolidate deliveries across teams.
  • Hierarchy management: Evolve the product hierarchy for internal and external reporting that meets internal needs and investor expectations.
  • Automation and AI adoption: Drive automation of repeatable finance processes; represent product and platform finance on company‑wide automation initiatives; promote adoption of AI tools to increase insights and efficiencies.
  • Board and CEO‑Staff communication: Contribute to Board and CEO‑Staff materials for key milestones of the strategic and annual planning process; present key product and platform finance projects to engineering CEO‑Staff members.
  • M&A: Develop playbooks for financial modeling and evaluation of potential deals; support due diligence and integration; step in to lead deal‑related finance when needed.
  • Lead team: Attract, retain and develop a high‑performing finance team across multiple geographies, including a local leader for India.
  • Strategic projects: Lead or participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in strategic finance, especially in FP&A at a large public software company.
  • Proven experience in product and go‑to‑market FP&A.
  • Experience partnering with C‑Level executives at large public companies.
  • Experience supporting M&A deals.
  • Experience in both SaaS and consumption business planning, operating, reporting, and pricing & packaging.
  • Strong accounting and financial planning process and systems leadership experience.
  • Skilled at working across multiple levels, from strategy to disciplined planning cycles.
  • Solution‑driven, innovative and creative mindset.
  • Zero‑defect, principles‑first mindset.
  • Hands‑on modeling and analytical skills.
  • Proven track record of financial systems, process and tools improvement/automation.
  • Strong people leader with experience managing global teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills with ability to influence across all levels.
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting or economics; MBA preferred.
  • Background in management consulting, investment banking or equity research preferred.

Salary Transparency

For U.S.–based roles, the starting base salary ranges between $202,000 and $326,810. Offers may exceed this range and include annual cash bonuses, commissions and stock grants.
