
Packaging Designer (Concept-Led)
Role Overview
As a Packaging Designer at Inwork, you’ll operate as a strong conceptual designer, leading creative thinking for packaging and product-facing brand expression. You’ll translate brand strategy and creative direction into distinctive packaging concepts, and systems —then extend those ideas across activation and socially amplified touchpoints when needed.
This role is ideal for a designer who thinks in packaging first, understands the shelf and online as a brand moment, and can develop concepts that scale across formats, SKUs, and campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Lead concept-driven packaging design across multiple clients and categories
Translate brand strategy, creative briefs, and conversations into clear, ownable packaging ideas
Develop design solutions across:
Packaging
Packaging systems and visual frameworks (SKUs, variants, formats)
Packaging-led activation and socially amplified brand moments
Independently initiate and advance design work, applying judgment to move projects forward
Manage and progress multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities, timelines, and quality
Execute adaptive packaging design while maintaining conceptual clarity and brand integrity
Participate in creative reviews and working sessions with internal teams and clients
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of professional experience in CPG packaging design
A strong portfolio demonstrating:
Concept-led packaging thinking
Packaging systems and physical brand expression
Consistent, high-quality design execution
A strong conceptual designer who can generate original packaging ideas and articulate the thinking behind them
Comfort working across both conceptual and adaptive packaging design
Solid understanding of the creative process from brief through rollout
Comfortable working in a small-team, agile environment.
Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and apply sound design judgment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Willingness and enthusiasm to occasionally support internal agency development (thoughtful pitch decks, on-brand case studies, etc.)
·Ambitious, with aspirations toward Director-level responsibilities and a strong desire for long-term growth
Tools & Skills
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop required)
Experience working in Mac-based design environments
Familiarity with AI-assisted tools
- e.g., Midjourney, Firefly, Nano Banana for early concept exploration
- Flora, Flair or similar for visualization
