Assistant Designer – Responsibilities As an Assistant Designer, you’ll contribute to the success of your design team by providing support as directed by your Designer and other team members. This may include, but is not limited to: researching trends, sketching and developing design concepts, preparing tech packs, and assisting with fabric and trim selection. You help organize and evaluate samples, provide fit and construction feedback, and collaborate closely with merchandising, production, and technical design to ensure each style aligns with Nordstrom’s brand standards. With strong design skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines, you’ll contribute meaningfully to creating trend-right, high-quality apparel.
Assist the Design team to prep for key milestones
Assist Design Director with buy meeting prep
Plan, facilitate and/or execute assigned design projects
Support the Design Director with preparation of the trend report
Collaborate with design team and cross-divisional partners
Research trends and competitive brands
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Associates degree in Design
Strong college portfolio and/or CV resume
Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently or as a team
Proficiency in MS Office suite, Adobe CS and ability to hand-sketch. Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and systems
Strong time management and multi-tasking skills

Washington: $60,500 - $94,000 annually. This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
