Accountability Statement The Relationship Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional member experiences in person and over the phone, identifying member cues, asking open-ended discovery questions, and growing consumer and business relationships by identifying member needs and appropriately positioning VyStar financial solutions. This role requires the ability to articulate VyStar’s value proposition versus competitors and to educate and proactively assist members with their financial goals.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide exceptional member experiences during every interaction, from greeting and welcoming to strengthening relationships through quality conversations and cross-selling VyStar solutions.
Identify member cues, ask open-ended discovery questions, and grow consumer and business relationships by identifying member needs.
Understand and position consumer and business deposit, credit, insurance, and investment solutions appropriately.
Handle personal and business account transactions, open accounts, and process various types of loan applications.
Explain basics of credit and savings options and refer more complex business products, mortgage solutions, investments, and insurance as appropriate.
Provide additional services to members such as account maintenance, notary, wire transfer, savings bond redemption, safe deposit box services, fraud claims, and credit card disputes.
Support and participate in all VyStar initiatives and campaigns.
Exercise sound judgment and discretion while complying with defined limits and guidelines.
Work with relative independence to accomplish tasks.
Demonstrate integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism consistently.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude with members and partners.
Resolve member problems independently, seek to say “yes” where possible, and escalate more complex concerns as needed.
Adhere to VyStar’s Standards of Excellence and Member Service Commitments.
Lead by example through community service supporting the VyStar brand.
Use excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Utilize relationship-building and documentation tools to ensure thorough follow-up and ongoing growth in member relationships through proactive engagement and personalized service.
Engage proactively with members through outbound calls to understand needs and provide comprehensive solutions, resulting in booked sales.
Address and overcome objections while educating members about VyStar’s offerings.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education
High School Diploma/GED is required.
Associate’s degree is preferred.
Experience
Previous experience in a sales and/or customer service role, community service, military service, asking questions, offering recommendations, and making referrals is preferred, preferably with a financial institution.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to process accurate transactions and requests.
Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proficient in Internet use and Microsoft Office.
Outgoing personality with a strong desire to help people.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to handle many tasks in a fast-paced environment.
