Summary
The Animator & Motion Graphics Artist is responsible for creating high-quality 2D and 3D animations and motion graphics that support MzeroA's aviation educational curriculum. This role focuses on transforming complex FAA diagrams, technical schematics, and aviation concepts into visually clear, engaging, and brand-aligned animations that enhance student understanding. The ideal candidate combines strong animation fundamentals with technical accuracy and a passion for educational storytelling.
Essential Functions
Transform existing FAA 2D diagrams, schematics, and technical illustrations into accurate and engaging 2D and 3D animations.
Create animated sequences that clearly visualize aviation concepts, aircraft systems, maneuvers, and procedures.
Design and animate motion graphics elements such as lower thirds, callouts, labels, and informational overlays for educational videos.
Apply and maintain MzeroA's visual brand standards across all animation and motion graphic assets.
Collaborate with curriculum writers, video editors, and content teams to ensure technical accuracy and instructional clarity.
Assist with storyboarding and visual planning to determine the most effective way to animate complex aviation processes.
Deliver finalized animation assets optimized for integration into online ground school and video-based learning platforms.
Manage multiple animation projects simultaneously while meeting production timelines and quality standards.
Competencies
Stills-to-Animation Conversion:
Ability to convert flat, technical 2D aviation diagrams into visually compelling 2D and 3D animated sequences.
Motion Graphics Expertise:
Strong skills in creating dynamic motion graphics that enhance instructional content.
Brand & Design Application:
Ability to apply consistent branding, typography, color, and visual hierarchy across all assets.
Technical Visualization:
Skill in translating complex technical or scientific information into clear, learner-friendly visuals.
Collaboration & Communication:
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a production environment.
Organization & Time Management:
Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced workflow.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
Standard office-related physical demands approximately 75% of the time.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a fully remote position and salary exempt. This position requires a minimum commitment of 40 hours during normal business hours.

Required Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in Animation, Motion Graphics, Graphic Design, or a closely related field.
Portfolio: A strong digital portfolio demonstrating proficiency in both 3D animation/modeling and 2D motion graphics.
Software Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in the following industry-standard software:
3D Animation: Blender 3D and/or Cinema 4D
Motion Graphics/Compositing: Adobe After Effects
Graphic Design: Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
Video Editing (a plus): Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve
Creative & technical Aptitude: Excellent understanding of animation principles (timing, weight, staging) and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, easy-to-understand visuals.
Work Ethic: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Education and Experience
Aviation Knowledge: Possession of at least private pilot certificate, and/or strong background/interest in aviation, aerospace, or technical training.
Experience or coursework in technical illustration or scientific visualization.
