The beautiful Lewis & Shirley White Theatre is a state-of-the-art, 500-seat theatre located in Overland Park, Kansas. The White Theatre produces and presents Broadway-style musicals and shows, films, dance performances, and more. The Box Office Sales Specialist handles all aspects of ticket sales, generates end-of-performance reports for theatre management, assists in performance night preparations and sales, and provides administrative support for the Director of Arts & Culture. The position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work efficiently in a time-sensitive and occasionally high-pressure environment.
Essential Functions
Provide point-of-sale and customer service during daytime box office hours as well as for performances at The White Theatre
Handle exchange and refund requests and all customer service issues in a timely and courteous manner
Maintain theatre's ticketing system, create performances/special events, and manage seating map
Assist with marketing and audience communication efforts by helping share promotional information and engaging patrons about upcoming events and programs
Train designated box office volunteers as necessary on the ticketing system and other box office-related tasks
Provide accurate reports to Theatre Management
Provide administrative support for the Director of Arts & Culture
Schedule This part-time position works during daytime weekday box office hours (currently 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.), Tuesday through Friday, plus variable hours, depending upon the department's schedule of plays, musicals, concerts, etc. Performance shifts are generally evenings and weekends. This position can expect an average of 25 hours per week, possibly more depending on theatre performance schedule.

Physical Requirements
Able to remain stationary and operate a computer at a desk for hours at a time
Able to operate computer quickly and accurately
Able to effectively communicate over the telephone
