Join HARTING! A leader in connectivity products and custom solutions. We are seeking a Distribution Corporate Account Manager (Hybrid; based in Elgin, Illinois) to join our growing team. The Distribution Corporate Account Manager is responsible for the overall sales management of select national and regional distributors in North America. HARTING aims to be a trusted advisor to customers and positions itself as the go-to source for industrial connectivity solutions. We partner directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and distribution partners for standard product, designed-in value-added products, and product development initiatives. To succeed in this role, you will be highly driven to: Responsibilities
Work with local Sales Management and the Distribution Sales Leader to select, evaluate, and increase business levels with national and regional distributors; develop, implement, and monitor strategic distributor sales plans to satisfy the company’s short- and long-term sales objectives. Utilize and coordinate all available resources (web, literature, digital and print marketing, value-added programs, new technology updates, reporting, etc.) to promote and drive results. Monitor distribution inventory levels and track changes nationwide. Develop a business plan for each assigned strategic distribution partner, including revenue expectations, new product strategy, inventory levels, training programs, and marketing initiatives. Serve as the primary HARTING point of contact to distributor corporate teams. Develop and maintain a strong working corporate relationship with all strategic distributors. Manage and communicate all pertinent information to appropriate levels within both HARTING and distributor management teams. Schedule and conduct corporate quarterly business reviews with distributors. Coordinate distributor product launches of new HARTING products. Work with HARTING resources to create specific selling tools and collateral to support programs, strategies and initiatives within the distribution network. Assist in design, layout, and product offering for distributor websites and digital marketing vehicles. Develop a communication program to keep distributors informed of new product and application developments, market trends, and general business information. Coordinate and conduct training programs for distributor sales personnel at their locations. Represent the company at major trade shows and other promotional activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Requires travel up to 35% and must have a valid passport for periodic international travel. Skills and experience
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred with a minimum of 5 years of experience in electronic component distribution or manufacturing sales and marketing. Demonstrated experience in resource management and technical background, or in selling to distribution which supports engineering and purchasing clientele. Good knowledge of inventory control practices, logistics, pricing practices and supply chain management. Extensive experience working with distribution sales networks and manufacturer’s reps/direct sales forces in developing sales strategies and relationships. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations and to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Proficient with MS Excel and able to analyze data to quickly uncover trends and opportunities. Compensation and Benefits
Base salary and bonus structure; competitive base salary: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 (commensurate with experience, location may affect range). Eligibility for a 20% discretionary annual bonus. Benefits include 21 days PTO to start, medical/dental/vision insurance options, company-sponsored life, AD&D, and short- and long-term disability, parental leave, tuition and fitness reimbursement, and a hybrid working policy. 401(k) with a 4% dollar-for-dollar match, fully vested upon eligibility.
