The Peer Recovery Specialist is primarily responsible as a case manager to assigned clients. Support clients in building social skills in the community that will enhance job acquisition. Model effective coping techniques and self-help strategies. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Peer Recovery Supervisor. Support clients in articulating personal goals for recovery and wellness and the objectives necessary to reach their recovery and wellness goals. Teach clients how to facilitate their recovery. Teach clients techniques for identifying and combatting negative self-talk, identifying, and overcoming fears. Teach and role model the value of every individual’s recovery experience. Utilize and teach problem-solving techniques with individuals and groups. Complete wellness plans and make appropriate referrals to outside agencies. Qualifications
REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED: Valid driver's license with 2 points or less REQUIRED: Must be a Peer: BCCS employs a diverse workforce, and we especially encourage applications from those who are in recovery. This position requires that the candidate chosen for it is a peer. BCCS defines a peer as anyone who is in recovery from addiction to drugs or alcohol. PREFERRED: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS). If you are not certified, certification is required within the first year of employment. Schedule
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. One late shift per week from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Pay
From $18/hr. Commensurate based on experience, education, and certification. The Compensation Package For This Position Includes
