
Overview
The Senior Underwriting Analyst is responsible for facilitating the loan origination process for securities-based loans. This includes the review of new credit clients for on-boarding and underwriting and fulfilment of credit requests. Provide feedback and training to less experienced staff on credit origination, department procedures and policies. What will you do?
Review, analyze, approve and underwrite securities-based loan requests within company guidelines. Review personal financial statements, credit reports, US tax returns and calculate applicable ratios (i.e. Debt ratios, loan-to-value, debt service, etc.). Analyze employment profile, credit strength, RBC Relationship and all other information pertinent to the credit decision. Maintain knowledge of RBC Lending Policy & Procedures. Examine transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness. Analyze portfolios to be pledged for new credits and assigns LTV’s as per firm’s policy. Analyze client documents and financial statements to evaluate and determine appropriate credit structure and terms for potential borrowers. Review for due diligence, document processing, and financial statements analyses related to transactions and credit approval as applicable. Prepare supporting information to be used for credit decision recommendations and approvals. Mentor and coach business staff on underwriting guidelines and application of Policy. May contact Bankers, Financial Advisors and possibly clients for additional information or documents as needed for the loan request to help maintain current and complete client files. Manage NOI (Notice of Incompleteness) and Adverse Action Process. Create and mail letters as per Regulation B. Review Annual Reviews weekly for approval within Designated Lending Authority. What do you need to succeed?
Must-have: 3+ years of credit underwriting experience Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for banking and credit including KYC and AML. Credit experience working with security-based loans preferred Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and experience Nice to Have: Credit experience working with security-based loans. Proven excellence in client service including timely and effective problem resolution. Demonstrated collaboration skills, working in partnerships to create effective outcomes. Ability to meet all work deadlines. Well organized, detail oriented, and extremely accurate Results Oriented by executing goals within timelines & acceptable risk levels Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills What’s in it for you?
