The Director of Finance Portfolio Management and Strategic Initiatives is a crucial leadership position aimed at transforming the Finance function through strategic planning, project oversight, and innovative initiatives. This leader will work closely with senior finance executives, cross-functional collaborators, and stakeholders to set a clear direction, execute important projects, and ensure accountability for finance initiatives.
Travel to our headquarters in Louisville, at least once a month is required.
Provide visionary leadership for the Finance function by developing and maintaining a comprehensive 3-5 year strategic plan in collaboration with senior leaders and stakeholders.
Assess and analyze the needs of all Finance towers and their supported business teams to inform the target state definition and the strategy to achieve it.
Establish criteria and processes for prioritizing initiatives, facilitating decision-making with Finance leadership.
Evaluate the financial implications of proposed investments to aid senior managers in assessing alternatives aligned with the organization's goals.
Define value tracking measures aligned with our Transformation Office methodologies and apply these to prioritized initiatives for ongoing evaluation.
Collaborate with Finance Towers, the Enterprise Transformation Office, IT, Data Governance, and other teams to establish initiative sequencing and dependencies; develop detailed plans, KPIs, and value metrics; and monitor progress against milestones and budget.
Oversee the infrastructure for portfolio management, including project reporting and budget tracking, coordinating with other teams for efficiency and effectiveness.
Manage the finance change portfolio and budget alongside IT and Finance teams, ensuring transparency and accountability among stakeholders.
Lead the execution of special projects including process redesign, identified automation opportunities, and other crucial, cross-functional transformation efforts.
Prepare and present materials for the Enterprise Transformation Office and other executive audiences.
Develop and implement training and communication programs while identifying skill gaps and devising strategies for training and hiring to future-proof the Finance function.
Encourage collaboration within Finance, acting as a facilitator for best practice sharing and knowledge exchange.
Stay informed about emerging technologies and their applications within Finance, driving improvements through organizational and process design.
Lead and nurture a team of approximately four associates, providing mentorship, coaching, and career support.
Exhibit exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, simplifying complex information for diverse audiences.
Make a meaningful impact with your expertise! Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Over 10 years of experience in finance strategy, portfolio management, and transformational initiatives in a large, complex organization.
Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale projects or portfolios.
Strong grasp of finance operations, process improvement, and emerging technologies.
Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams (5+ years).
Experience in the healthcare industry or similar complex, regulated sectors is preferred.
A passion for contributing to an organization committed to improving consumer experiences is essential.

40 Salary Range:
The anticipated starting base salary for full-time employment is between $168,000 and $231,000 annually. Salary may vary based on geographic location, individual skills, knowledge, experience, and education. This position is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
