
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Product Designer. In this role, you will lead the product design efforts for an AI-powered claims automation platform, shaping the user experience and interface from start to finish. You will serve not only as a hands-on designer but also as a mentor to contract designers, establishing best practices in research, design systems, and operations. Your expertise will help define product strategy and ensure our products meet the needs of pet parents everywhere.
Overview The Principal Product Designer leads end-to-end product design for multiple SaaS products, establishes and scales design systems, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to translate brand foundations into product-ready patterns. The role also includes leading user research, defining UX metrics, and mentoring contract designers.
Responsibilities
Establish and lead end-to-end product design processes
Design and own UX for multiple SaaS products
Create our first design system and scale it across all products
Translate brand foundations into product-ready patterns
Develop and lead user research to gather quantifiable insights
Establish key metrics from research to drive UX strategy
Mentor and direct contract designers, guiding priorities and quality
Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams on problem framing
Partner with an external agency on brand system and cohesive storytelling
Set up design operations that scale with the team
Drive UX strategy and alignment across the organization
Requirements
8-10+ years in product/UX design; at least 3 in senior/principal roles
Experience mentoring contractors or leading design pods
Expertise in workflow/enterprise SaaS design (B2B/B2B2C)
Experience with user research and rapid prototyping
Strong systems thinking for multi-stakeholder journeys
Proven track record building design systems from zero-to-one
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Tools: Figma, FigJam; analytics tools such as Pendo
