Robert Half's marketing & creative client is looking for an Event Floor Plan Designer for a 3-month contract in the Greater Boston area. This is a remote, 40-hour-per-week opportunity; candidates must be willing and able to work eastern (ET) hours. The Designer assists with drafting and space planning to create functional and visually appealing 2D floor plans for exhibits that optimize space and traffic flow. Interested candidates should provide a portfolio of samples in addition to resume.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with account managers, sales, and operations teams.
Design accurate floor plans, carpet layouts, mark-out plans, and other operational documents.
Use programs such as AutoCAD and Expocad to create detailed and creative floor plans.
Maintain and update standards, facility requirements, and internal libraries.
Revise and adjust plans as needed.
Ensure clear communication with internal teams and clients.
Qualifications
Degree in design, planning, or related
Formal drafting program experience preferred
3+ years of experience with event space planning and floor plan design
Strong exhibit, convention, or tradeshow industry experience
Skilled in AutoCAD, Expocad, Revit, or similar platform
Detail-oriented
Excellent communication skills
Familiarity with 2D and 3D drafting
Knowledge of tradeshow best practices is preferred
Excellent project management skills
