Overview Member Service Representative II

Full Time (40 Hours) Monday - Saturday (Varies)

Cactus Branch

3660 West Cactus Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89141.

PURPOSE:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist Silver State Schools Credit Union to live out its Mission, "Excellent Member Service and Financial Solutions - For Life," by providing outstanding service to both members and internal members. A key component of this service is to identify member needs and provide appropriate credit union product solutions.

Summarizes responsibilities related to opening, processing, and funding accounts and loans while maintaining cross-sell standards.

Identifies cross-sell opportunities and refers business to other lines of business (e.g., mortgage, member business, or investment solutions).

Accurately completes Safe Deposit Box services.

Processes a variety of financial transactions for members (e.g., checks, deposits, withdrawals, certificates, drafts, and other negotiable instruments).

Maintains expert knowledge of Credit Union features, benefits, products, and services to enhance member relationships.

Takes ownership of member requests or complaints with minimal need to refer to other departments.

Responds to and researches member inquiries regarding operations, service access, and account discrepancies; assists with balancing and reconciling; supports feature adjustments as needed.

Analyzes loan applications and supporting documents to determine feasibility of qualifying the requested loan.

Provides counseling to applicants, members, and dealers regarding loan decisions and adheres to policies and procedures.

Completes all loan applications, gathers documentation, analyzes financial status and collateral as needed, and submits to Consumer Lending for a credit decision.

Looks for ways to qualify loan requests, presents counteroffers when applicable, and suggests cross-sell opportunities.

Completes each applicable task, stipulation, or condition within the lending platform.

Ensures all documentation and packets for new accounts and loans are complete, accurate, and archived per policy requirements and compliance regulations.

Inputs income verifications, title reports, and collateral appraisals when needed.

Describes and recommends suitable insurance and ancillary products.

Communicates credit decisions to applicants in a timely manner.

Outbound calling may be required for campaigns, promotions, and pre-approved offers.

Explains features and benefits of electronic services (Debit Card, Mobile Banking, Online Bill Pay, Online Banking, Direct Deposit, ACH Debit/Credit, Payroll Deduction).

Assists with auditing tasks (cash balancing, ATM balancing, instant issue cards, etc.).

Follows established credit union policies, procedures, rules and regulations, and security guidelines.

Performs duties with accuracy, efficiency, dependability, and professional conduct.

Maintains a cooperative and positive attitude toward members, potential members, and team.

Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor.

Supports a high satisfaction standard and understands the impact of first impressions on member experience.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree (A.A.) preferred or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and a minimum of 2-4 years banking or credit union experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Thorough knowledge of the credit union computer system for basic input/output tasks including Word and Excel is desired.
