Overview
About Andela . Andela connects global, remote technical talent with customers across 135 countries. Andela offers a broad, growing talent marketplace and a platform-based approach to managing the global talent lifecycle. This role supports growth in brand awareness and engagement across owned social channels. Job Summary: Andela is looking for a Social Media Content Specialist to scale the creation of high-performing, social-first content across our owned channels. In this role, you’ll take existing video assets—executive interviews, podcasts, event footage—and optimize them into thumb-stopping short-form content that engages our global audience. You’ll also develop visual carousels and image assets utilizing brand guidelines and templates to support content themes. This role involves lightweight video capture (e.g., at events or with our technologists), editing native platform videos, and contributing to new formats like Reels, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn video. It is a creative, execution-focused role designed to help grow brand awareness and meet rising engagement and visibility expectations.
Responsibilities Content Creation & Editing
Edit and optimize executive interviews, speaking clips, and podcast recordings for social formats (Reels, Shorts, TikTok, LinkedIn). Develop short-form video assets using existing footage and motion design templates (we use Descript). Film and produce lightweight video content on-site or remotely, when needed (iPhone or DSLR-level setups). Write hooks, scripts, captions, and supporting copy with social engagement best practices in mind. Format, size, and deliver assets tailored to each platform’s specs and audience behavior.
Repurposing & Optimization
Repurpose long-form content (e.g., press interviews, event panels) into highlight clips and visual carousels. Work closely with the PR team to extend the life of earned placements and podcast appearances. Collaborate with Talent and Product Marketing teams to align on content themes and timing. Complete YouTube channel optimization, ensuring titles, descriptions, settings, and visual identity meet SEO and brand requirements.
Execution Support
Support social-first campaign ideation and execution. Maintain creative asset management workflows and ensure on-time content delivery (we use Asana). Provide on-the-ground support for content capture at key events.
Qualifications 2–4 years of experience in social media content creation with short-form video editing. Strong portfolio of video content optimized for platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Proficiency in short-form video editing tools (e.g., CapCut, Premiere Pro, Descript, or similar). Proficiency in graphic platforms like Canva or Figma to support image format content creation. Proven ability to write engaging copy and adapt messaging for different channels. Clear understanding of what makes video content perform in-feed: hook writing, pacing, and platform norms. Organized, detail-oriented, and self-sufficient in managing timelines and output. Familiarity with technology, developer, remote work, or AI-related content. Light motion graphics or visual storytelling background.
