Role Overview The Associate Interior Designer plays a pivotal role in the success of our projects. This position is the operational backbone of our projects. The associate ensures that orders are placed accurately, pricing is correct, and deliveries are coordinated seamlessly. This role is on the front lines of communication with vendors and trades, often acting as the final checkpoint on purchase orders and custom furnishings.

While the role begins with a focus on the technical aspects of design, it offers a path to greater creative growth as the Associate builds their skill set. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable with both collaborative and independent work, client-focused environment and is eager to grow both technically and creatively.

Responsibilities

Support the development and execution of high-end residential design projects from concept to completion.

Manage order placement, pricing, tracking, and delivery coordination with precision and accountability.

Assist in budgeting, scheduling, sourcing, and specifying furnishings, finishes, and fixtures across multiple projects.

Maintain strong relationships with vendors, trades, and contractors through timely and professional communication.

Prepare construction documentation, RFQs, POs, and detailed drawings for custom millwork, furniture, and finishes.

Serve as a positive role model and provide guidance to interns.

Represent the AVI brand with professionalism and consistency.

Collaborate effectively within a small studio environment and with external partners.

Qualifications

Degree in Interior Design from an accredited program.

Minimum of 1 year experience in residential design, preferably with high-end projects.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel; familiarity with Studio Designer, Photoshop, and SketchUp is a plus.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently under time constraints.

Must have a car and valid driver’s license.

Proactive communication skills knowing when to ask questions.
