INTERIOR DESIGNER
to join our team in
San Diego, CA . This person will be responsible for the design and presentation of interior design projects, including schematic design tasks and design development. They will also plan, design, and furnish interiors for several market sectors, including Housing, Healthcare, Commercial, and Education.
This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite at our San Diego, CA office.
What You Will Do
Lead and support interior design projects from conceptual design through design development and construction documentation phases
Plan and design interior aspects of large or multiple projects by developing appropriate design concepts, layouts, and approaches, including design, planning, and occupancy analyses
Serve as a subject matter expert in interior design, maintaining awareness of design constraints across various project types and clients
Develop and represent the lead technical design perspective on projects, ensuring integration of structural, mechanical, electrical, and visual design components
Review drawings and project documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards and specifications
Collaborate with Project Managers, Architects, consultants, and senior staff to identify appropriate design solutions and product strategies
Monitor project budgets and schedules to support successful project delivery
Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical direction to junior staff
What You Will Bring
Knowledge of and interest in industry standards and the design process, with the ability to design, prepare documentation, and meet with client representatives to ensure project requirements are met in alignment with company brand guidelines.
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Revit, and SketchUp modeling, with AutoCAD experience considered a plus.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, coordinating effectively with other design professionals.
A confident and tenacious approach while maintaining positive working relationships with clients, outside consultants, and technical staff.
An agile and creative thinker with strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving and listening skills, and consistent follow-through.
Clear and effective communications, with strong organizational and collaborative abilities, and a passion for developing and maintaining a comprehensive library of finish and fixture selections
Your Qualifications
8+ years of experience delivering interior design projects across a range of building types, with a preference for commercial and educational environments.
Experience in the preparation of presentation materials and meeting with clients to establish interior design goals for the projects
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design
Certification as a licensed professional is preferred but not required
Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without any restrictions. Please note that visa sponsorship is not offered for this position
We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications. Excellent benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage. We also offer the opportunity to participate in a pre-tax Flexible Spending plan, Employee Stock Ownership Plan, and 401k.
Salary range : $85,000 – $90,000 depending on qualifications. Placement within this pay range will be determined by factors such as education, qualifications, project complexity and/or experience. The maximum is reserved for candidates who currently meet all job requirements.
