
We are seeking a skilled
Technical Writer
to create and revise complex technical documentation supporting the marketing, operation, repair, and maintenance of company products. This role requires ensuring all documents adhere to company, customer, and government standards, specifications, and language principles. This is a six month contract-to-hire.
The successful candidate will develop high-quality content using modern publishing software to produce:
Product descriptions and functional overviews Operating and maintenance procedures Fault isolation and repair documentation Illustrated parts breakdowns Proposals, reports, and marketing materials You will collaborate across engineering, production, and support teams to ensure documentation accuracy, consistency, and compliance with relevant standards and customer requirements.
Skills Required:
Proficiency with
XML Authoring Tools
(e.g., Arbortext Epic Editor, Oxygen XML Editor ) Microsoft Office Suite
(Word, Excel, PowerPoint required; Access a plus) Adobe Acrobat Professional
(or similar PDF markup tools) for illustration markups and reviews Ability to collaborate with diverse, multi-location teams Understanding of
Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM)
functionality, development processes, and markup languages Skills Preferred:
Validation and verification experience, including on-vehicle work Experience with
Content Management Systems (CMS) Strong
customer interaction and service skills
(some roles involve direct client interface) Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree
in a relevant technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum
5 years of relevant experience
in technical writing or documentation Familiarity with
military and commercial documentation standards Experience in
mechanical, electrical, or operator-level technical writing
(defense industry preferred)
