About the Position
The Communications Coordinator shares in developing the Branch's communications strategies under the general supervision of and in close coordination with the Communications Director and team. Duties include crafting messages and managing communications channels and working with various staff members to ensure consistent communication. This position also cultivates, publishes, and creates content, including, for example, monthly newsletters, feature stories, press releases, messages to staff, web content and other communications content and materials as needed and assigned. This individual must also possess familiarity with social media platforms, blogs, and digital advancements like short-form reels.

Education: Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, public relations, public administration, or a related field. Experience:
One (1) year of professional experience in marketing, media engagement, public relations, or in coordinating multi-channel communication elements such as video, photos, and graphics. OR
Combined education and experience qualifications:
An equivalent combination of related post-secondary education or job-related experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis. Our Preferred Candidate has:

Coordinate a team-based approach to communications. Develop knowledge of current communications platform for the design and transmission of communication materials. Work cooperatively with stakeholders to assess needs and understand workflow. Coordinate with the employee teams to organize and plan communications tools, strategies, and systems. Develops and coordinates comprehensive communication plans to advise and assist management in the implementation of strategic initiatives, organizational goals, and engagement activities. Coordinates a collaborative process to identify and conceptualize, write, and execute story ideas on a broad range of topics. Works closely with the Communications Director, and team members, to oversee, strategize content, and establish an editorial calendar. Explores and evaluates strategies, ideas, and concepts for both the visual and verbal communication elements, recommending new or improved strategies and tools to enhance Branch communications. Develops standard work and processes to ensure communications adhere to standards and best practices. Reviews communications to ensure they meet usability and user experience standards. Stays current on emerging technologies to make recommendations on communication strategies. Creates visual text and imagery concepts using computer software to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate. Reviews communication tools, assesses ongoing effectiveness, strives to increase engagement rates, compiles statistics, and prepares reports to make recommendations for improvement and flags emerging issues with proposed countermeasures. Manages and serves as an administrator for communication software programs including managing access, licenses, distribution lists, and providing training and technical assistance as needed. Responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and maintaining accurate content on SharePoint sites.
Working conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to communicate clearly, perceive details of objects that are close by, and maintain various physical positions for extended periods, such as sitting, standing, or walking. The job may involve using hands for tasks such as typing, handling objects, or operating tools, as well as reaching with hands and arms.
