Kingsport TN Benefits: Comprehensive health insurance Dental and vision coverage Paid holidays Paid time off (PTO) 401(k) retirement plan Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Industrial Structural Steel Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for industrial projects involving structural steel. This role requires a strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and industry standards. The estimator will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver solutions that balance technical requirements, cost, and schedule. Key Responsibilities Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and documents to determine scope and materials Perform detailed quantity take-offs for beams, columns, braces, connections, and miscellaneous metals Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers, subcontractors, and fabricators Prepare comprehensive cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead Collaborate with project teams to clarify requirements and resolve discrepancies Identify risks and propose value-engineering solutions Prepare and submit complete bid proposals Maintain cost databases and historical project data Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-award contract negotiations as needed. xsgimln Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred) 3+ years’ experience estimating industrial structural steel projects Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Tekla, AutoCAD) Strong knowledge of construction documents, drawings, building codes, safety regulations, and fabrication standards Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills. Desired Skills Attention to detail and accuracy Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines Microsoft Office proficiency Experience with industrial projects (manufacturing, warehouses, processing facilities) is a plus Why Join Us?
