Kforce has a client in Raleigh, NC that is seeking a Senior CIAM Solutions Designer.Design end-to-end CIAM and fraud-aware identity solutions, including:
Authentication and federation protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML) Okta Identity Engine for adaptive, risk-based authentication Multi-factor authentication (MFA), step-up, and account recovery flows Universal Directory for customer identity profiles and attributes Create identity journeys that integrate fraud-detection signals into:
Digital onboarding and identity proofing Login and re-authentication flows High-risk transactions and step-up scenarios Design integrations between CIAM and:
Mobile/web applications API gateways and backend services Fraud decision engines and monitoring platforms Customer data platforms and CRM systems Align solutions with financial-services expectations related to:
Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) Data protection and privacy Fraud prevention and operational risk Duties:
Produce clear solution-design artifacts (architecture diagrams, sequence flows, integration patterns, NFRs) Ensure solutions support high-volume digital traffic with resilience, low latency, and appropriate failover Balance strong security controls with friction-aware customer experience Collaborate with Fraud Operations to support detection, monitoring, and resolution workflows Embed security-by-design, privacy-by-design, and compliance-by-default principles Design secure handling of credentials, secrets, encryption, tokens, and key-management processes Translate solution designs into epics, features, and actionable backlog items Provide design assurance throughout development and testing Resolve design trade-offs and integration challenges Ensure CIAM and fraud solutions are implementable, testable, operable, and resilient Skills
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience in software application development, or High School diploma/GED and 12 years of experience in software application development Experience working in agile, product-aligned delivery models Familiarity with regulatory, audit, and operational-risk requirements Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Excellent documentation, diagramming, and stakeholder-communication skills. Ability to balance customer experience with strong security and fraud-mitigation controls Detail-oriented and delivery-focused mindset Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
3-5+ years of experience with at least one major programming language (Java, Python, Go, etc.) Experience as a Solutions Designer, Solution Architect, or Senior Engineer in a financial-services environment Hands-on experience designing Okta-based CIAM solutions Strong understanding of:
Fraud prevention and risk-based authentication Secure digital identity journeys OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML protocols REST APIs and event-driven architectures
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
