Senior Estimator - Heavy Civil / Sitework
Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead and support estimating efforts for heavy civil and sitework construction projects. This role is responsible for preparing complete, accurate estimates and supporting bid strategy for a wide range of civil scopes. The ideal candidate brings deep industry experience and can independently manage estimates from initial review through final submission.
Responsibilities Prepare full estimates for heavy civil and sitework construction projects
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to define scope and identify risks
Estimate projects including excavation, underground utilities, grading, site concrete, and roadway work
Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
Develop production rates, schedules, and pricing strategies
Collaborate with operations and project management during bid reviews and project handoff
Support value engineering and alternative means/methods when applicable
Qualifications
10+ years of experience estimating
heavy civil and sitework projects
Proven experience bidding and preparing complete estimates from start to finish
Strong knowledge of civil construction means and methods
Experience with
excavation, utilities, grading, site concrete, and roadway construction
Proficiency with estimating software;
HCSS and Agtek preferred but not required
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
