
Account Manager
Account managers grow and maintain profitable ArcBest business by selling and marketing ArcBest solutions and services to current and prospective customers. Responsibilities include managing business relationships and entertaining customers, working in a team setting to accomplish goals, creating service solutions for customers' unique business problems, identifying customer challenges, developing and implementing solutions to create opportunities, completing itinerary and call reports, assisting in collection process and cargo claim prevention, making sales calls and presentations to customers of all sizes, maintaining a positive, customer-focused attitude, negotiating service requirements and prices, establishing service packages, maintaining accurate territory account information, conducting calls and face-to-face meetings with customers, obtaining and developing new accounts, collaborating with customers, front-line management, and various ArcBest departments, interacting with all employees and customers in a professional and courteous manner, monitoring the Company's industry competitors, new products, and market conditions, developing sales strategies, completing monthly sales audit reports and expense reports, aggressively pursuing customers using networking, social media, customer referrals, maintaining and growing expertise of ArcBest service offerings, and exhibiting excellent customer service. Requirements include a bachelor's degree, preferred, relevant experience will be considered, transportation industry and related sales experience, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, current and legal driver's license to operate motor vehicle, knowledge of business solutions, competitors, and decision makers, knowledge of ArcBest company policies, services, computer systems and services capabilities, competencies in addressing customer needs, cross-selling, negotiating, perseverance and follow-through, problem solving, relationship management, sales closing and agreements, and selling. Work hours are generally Monday - Friday between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload and customer events. Travel requirements are minimal (0%-25%).
