Job Description: Job Summary:
The North American Automotive Aftermarket Product Specialist reports directly to the Marketing Manager and supports the development, marketing, and optimization of assigned product categories. This role requires close collaboration with teams across product management, cataloging, engineering, and sales to ensure product success throughout its lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, data-driven, and experienced in managing large product datasets. They bring a strong understanding of automotive components and systems, hands-on technical knowledge, and a passion for delivering solutions that enhance vehicle performance, reliability, and safety. Key Responsibilities: Product Data Management & Cataloging Support Maintain and manage product data in alignment with ACES/PIES standards and internal systems. Ensure accuracy and completeness of product attributes, fitment data, and digital assets across cataloging platforms. Support and update product documentation, including technical specifications, installation guides, and internal release forms. Drive the setup of new product SKUs, including interchanges, application coverage, and BOM requirements. Troubleshoot and correct data errors or inconsistencies reported by internal teams or customers. Market Analysis & Product Insights Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer behavior to identify coverage gaps, product opportunities, and pricing pressures. Conduct VIO-based opportunity assessments, price shops, and competitive analysis to support product positioning and pricing decisions. Contribute to product roadmaps and lifecycle strategies through data-driven insights. Support the definition of go-to-market pricing by channel, using market data and profitability benchmarks. Assist in the development of business cases for new product launches and line extensions. Cross-functional Collaboration Work with engineering, supply chain, quality, and cataloging teams to support product development, launch execution, and ongoing maintenance. Coordinate with marketing and sales to support the creation of product content, sales tools, and internal communications. Participate in product change management, including supersessions, application updates, and part revisions. Assist cross-functional teams with supplier drawing reviews, quality feedback, and technical documentation. Technical Support & Sales Enablement Act as a product knowledge resource for Sales, Customer Support, and Technical Service teams. Deliver internal and external training sessions, product demonstrations, and webinars on product features and application fitment. Respond to customer inquiries regarding fitment, application coverage, or product performance, collaborating with appropriate teams to resolve issues. Continuous Improvement Contribute to enhancements in cataloging workflows, data integrity, and documentation standards. Identify and support improvements in product setup, lifecycle processes, and reporting tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cataloging best practices and streamline internal systems. Stay current on industry trends, tools, and standards through training, events, and professional development. Required Qualifications:
Familiarity with automotive parts and systems such as ignition, braking, engine management, suspension, or fuel systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, lookups). Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage large product datasets accurately. Effective communication skills and a collaborative, proactive mindset. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with tools such as AccuPI, MotorData, ALLDATA, or dealership OE data systems. Background in technical service, parts counter, automotive repair, or motorsports. Working knowledge of ACES/PIES standards and experience with PIM systems or catalog receivers. Experience using Smartsheet for project tracking, data collaboration, or product launch coordination. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Automotive Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in the automotive aftermarket, ideally in a product, cataloging, or technical role.
Job level is determined by various factors such as organization size, responsibility, career stage, and capabilities.

Primarily an office-based role with hybrid work flexibility. May include occasional exposure to manufacturing and warehouse environments. Some travel may be required for customer visits, factory tours, and industry events.
