Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Director for our Developer Community to build out Workato’s global developer community programs. Responsibilities
Build and run Workato’s global community programs: launch and scale hundreds of local developer user groups, a world-class MVP / Champions program, and university & student outreach initiatives. Hire and lead a community operations team; design and maintain the supporting portals, tooling, and analytics that power self-service growth. Recruit, onboard, and mentor community leaders and champions, providing resources, recognition, and incentives to sustain long-term engagement. Launch ambassador and champions programs; recognise and reward top contributors. Design and execute community strategy across Discord, GitHub, Reddit, X/Twitter, and in-person meetups. Moderate online forums, surface insights, and route feedback to Product & Engineering. Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills
Experience managing a team of 6+ community professionals. 5+ years building and nurturing developer communities at scale. 5+ years of hands-on programmatic marketing, including segmentation, automation, and lifecycle campaigns. Direct, end-to-end experience planning and executing in-person and virtual events. Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics
Strong written voice and conflict-resolution skills. Strong operational approach with metrics, structured processes, and holding teams accountable. Empathetic community builder who nurtures inclusive spaces. Location: This role is based in our San Francisco office; in-person work 3 to 4 days a week is expected.
