Residential Remodeling & Historic Renovation
About The Role: Architectural Craftsmen is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on high-quality residential remodeling and historic renovation projects. This role is responsible for jobsite leadership, schedule execution, quality control, and coordination of trades to ensure projects are built safely, efficiently, and to our standards. The majority of upcoming projects (approximately 99%) will be located at Fort Leavenworth, roughly 40 miles from our Overland Park office, so consistent travel to that site is an essential part of this role. This position is ideal for a superintendent who takes pride in craftsmanship, runs organized jobsites, and communicates clearly with crews, Project Managers, and clients.
What You'll Be Doing
Jobsite Leadership & Execution: Manage daily jobsite operations from start through closeout
coordination of subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, and deliveries
Enforce schedules and sequencing to keep projects moving
Quality & Craftsmanship
Ensure work meets drawings, specifications, and company quality standards
Perform regular quality checks and address issues promptly
Protect finished work and maintain clean, professional jobsites
Safety & Compliance
Enforce jobsite safety procedures and PPE requirements
Maintain safety documentation and site compliance
Ensure work complies with local codes and regulations
Communication & Coordination
Serve as the primary field point of contact
Communicate progress, issues, and schedule impacts to the Project Manager
Maintain a professional presence with clients and trade partners
Experience & Qualifications
5+ years of residential construction experience, including superintendent or lead field role
Strong background in remodeling and/or commercial construction
Experience working in occupied homes preferred
Ability to read and execute work from plans and specifications
Strong scheduling and trade coordination skills
Confident decision-maker with good judgment
Organized, detail-oriented, and accountable

Experience with historic homes or architecturally detailed renovations is a plus
