Role Overview The Key Account Manager supports and grows customer relationships across data center, mission-critical, commercial, and industrial electrical projects. This role blends account management, project coordination, and business development support, serving as a key liaison between customers and internal project, engineering, and field teams. The Key Account Manager focuses on delivering an excellent customer experience while helping identify opportunities for repeat and expanded work.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Customer Support
Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
Build strong working relationships with customers by understanding their facilities, schedules, and operational needs.
Support ongoing relationships within commercial, industrial, and mission-critical environments.
Participate in customer meetings, site walks, and coordination calls.
Project Coordination & Execution Support
Partner with project managers, engineers, and field leadership to support active electrical and infrastructure projects.
Help translate customer needs into clear scopes, schedules, and internal action items.
Track project milestones and follow up on open items to ensure commitments are met.
Support change order communication, documentation review, and customer updates.
Assist with project closeout and post-project follow-up.
Business Development & Account Growth
Identify opportunities for additional work within existing customer accounts, including expansions, upgrades, and new facilities.
Support proposal development, pricing input, and customer presentations.
Maintain awareness of customer pipelines and upcoming construction activity.
Collaborate with leadership to pursue new opportunities aligned with Brittain and D&L’s service offerings.
Drive new business development by pursuing and engaging general contractors, system integrators, and direct customers.
Track active bids, conduct timely follow-ups, and gather feedback to support successful closures.
Regularly update Salesforce to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Internal Collaboration
Work closely with operations, engineering, estimating, and field teams to ensure alignment between customer expectations and execution.
Collaborate closely with enterprise business development and marketing teams to develop social media content, targeted campaigns, and marketing collateral.
Communicate customer feedback and lessons learned to leadership.
Uphold company standards for safety, quality, and professionalism on all projects and customer interactions.
Qualifications & Experience
4+ years of experience in electrical construction, low-voltage, telecom, or infrastructure environments.
Experience supporting customers, projects, or accounts in a technical or construction-related role.
Strong communication skills and customer-facing presence.
Working knowledge of commercial or industrial electrical projects.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
Comfortable participating in site walks, customer meetings, and coordination calls.
Proficiency with standard business tools (email, spreadsheets, project documentation platforms).
