
Overview
The pay range per hour is $21.75 - $37.00. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. About Target and Assets Protection Assets Protection (AP) teams function to keep our guests, team and brand secure and lead through crisis events. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing theft and fraud to ensure product is available for our guest. They also build relationships inside and outside of Target including store leaders and public safety officials, inclusive of law enforcement.

Assets Protection Team Leader Responsibilities
Leading a security culture, crisis response, a strong safety environment and crowd management planning; providing support to guests and team members.
Implementing daily/weekly AP workload priorities to support business priorities and goals.
Responding to external and internal theft incidents and preventing future theft.
Implementing strategic resolutions of external theft and fraud and apprehending individuals per Target policy and leadership guidance.
Partnering, educating and supporting store business leaders on operational shortage priorities.
Leading a team of hourly team members with interviewing, developing, evaluating and retaining talent.
Support total store sales and increase profitability by ensuring products are in stock and available to guests; engage guests at the front of the store and on the salesfloor.
Influence and validate physical security and safety processes; participate in store response and emergency crisis situations; create security plans for in-store events.
Educate teams on emergency preparedness and physical security procedures; develop, coach and lead team members to elevate their skills.
Anticipate staffing needs and support talent planning; manage performance and establish clear expectations.
Identify theft and shortage trends and develop tactics to reduce shortage and drive profitable sales.
Communicate AP priorities to the team, peers and leadership; maintain relationships with store leadership and law enforcement as appropriate.
Own prevention, identification and resolution of external theft incidents; conduct apprehensions in line with policy and procedures.
Lead investigations as directed and educate store leadership on merchandise protection best practices.
Support onboarding and learning; close knowledge and skill gaps through training and experience.
Model ethical conduct and compliance; hold team members accountable to expectations.
Maintain all required training and serve as first responder for in-store safety incidents.
Demonstrate inclusivity and a safety culture; participate in Monthly Safety Meetings/Observations where applicable.
Qualifications and Requirements
Age 18 or older
High school degree or equivalent
Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
Previous retail and/or loss prevention experience preferred, but not required
Ability to lead and hold others accountable
Effective communication skills; ability to operate handheld scanners and related equipment
Work independently and as part of a team; manage workload and priorities
Welcoming and helpful attitude

Interpret instructions, reports and information
Climb ladders; handle and move merchandise safely (up to 40 pounds)
