Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 9a.m. and 9p.m. Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays; must be available every other weekend. Average hours per week is 20-25 hours.

Responsibilities

Asset Protection

Communicate with leadership regarding encounters and investigations

Maintain a professional relationship with local authorities and law enforcement agencies

Collaborate with law enforcement and other local retailers to identify organized retail crime threats

Assist leadership with cash handling and transfers

Observe customers and associates for potential acts of theft or fraud

Taking appropriate action to prevent theft, apprehending individuals engaged in theft activity when prevention is not effective

Conducting surveillance and apprehension of external theft suspects in compliance with company ethical standards and apprehension guidelines

Monitor video via CCTV and conduct on-site interviews

Maintaining all apprehension and investigation records according to company standards

Developing and maintaining knowledge and use of CCTV surveillance equipment

Assisting in monitoring store compliance with company policies and procedures relating to theft deterrence, safety, and operational controls, as assigned by the supervisor

Maintain a high visible deterrent to crime and positively influence the security incident rate as well as assist with inventory controls

Safety

Help mitigate security risks to provide a safer environment for employees and customers

Welcome all customers, visitors, and vendors professionally and assist them in locating staff within the stores

Issue electric handicapped shopping carts to customers and assist in obtaining wheelchairs and shopping carts

Examine and properly tag property being brought into the stores including personal property, equipment for service, and firearms

Watch facilities and parking areas on foot; direct traffic during events or heavy customer traffic while enforcing parking regulations

Make regularly scheduled floor and exterior walks to ensure safety and security

Complete monthly reports on safe or non-safe practices found on the sales floor or backstocks

First Responder

Help customers and staff with vehicle break-downs and lock-outs and retrieve shopping carts from parking areas

React as necessary and assist in handling shoplifting, medical emergencies, and inclement weather

Ability to work assigned schedules which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Education & Experience

– High School Diploma/GED; strong communication and organizational skills; preference for candidates with prior Loss Prevention (2-3 years); CPR and OC spray certification or willingness to obtain

Schedule

– Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or early morning hours based on business needs

Physical Requirements

– Ability to sit, stand, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation. Heavy work: exerting up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly
