Overview

Hampton Golf Club is entering a defining new chapter, and we are seeking an experienced, thoughtful Golf Course Superintendent to help lead it. Located on St. Simons Island and closely connected to the iconic King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort, Hampton Golf Club is rooted in coastal Georgia and shaped by tidal marshes, live oaks, and an easy, welcoming rhythm of play. In March 2026, the course will close for a full-scale renovation led by Beau Welling Design, reopening in Fall 2026 as a private club with a renewed vision focused on playability, connection, and coastal ease. This is a rare opportunity to steward a golf course through transformation and to help define the standards, culture, and identity of a modern coastal private club from the ground up.

The Opportunity

As Golf Course Superintendent, you will play a central leadership role during renovation and beyond. You will collaborate closely with ownership, project partners, and resort leadership to prepare the course for reopening and to establish agronomic excellence aligned with the King and Prince brand.

Responsibilities

You will oversee all golf course maintenance operations and directly supervise:

Assistant Superintendent

Grounds Crew

Mechanic Crew

You will also partner with Golf Operations leadership and resort departments to ensure the course experience reflects the same warmth, professionalism, and sense of place guests and members expect from The King and Prince name.

What Makes This Role Unique

Hands-on leadership during a Beau Welling–designed renovation, from grow-in to reopening

A course defined by marshland, live oaks, and coastal ecology, where nature is always part of the round

The chance to help shape a new private club culture that values approachability, craftsmanship, and pride without ego

A strong connection to a respected, long-standing resort brand known for hospitality, community, and quality

The Kind of Leader We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is both technically strong and people-focused. Someone who sets high standards, communicates clearly, and builds trust with their team. You value preparation, consistency, and long-term thinking, but you also appreciate that great golf is meant to be shared, welcoming, and enjoyed.

You understand that excellence does not need to be loud. The course should speak for itself.
