MIM is seeking a Senior Analyst, Asset Management, to play a key role within the growing platform! The Asset Management team is responsible for crafting and driving the business plans for assets across the portfolios of MIM’s clients. The Analyst will support primarily East Coast assets, and is responsible for complex financial modeling and analysis, production of investment memorandums and supporting asset management and transactions teams. The Senior Analyst will work closely with Asset Managers on leasing, property management, capital projects, and valuations, while gaining exposure to the Transactions and Capital Markets teams through acquisitions, dispositions and re-financings of assets within the region. This role requires an individual who can bring passion each day to the workplace and demonstrate an ability to handle workload management and can perform during high pressure situations related to deadlines. The position reports directly to a Director, US Asset Management, and this position will sit in the Atlanta, GA office.
Position Responsibilities Provide financial analysis and support for asset-level decision-making and transactions.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses and reporting across the region’s portfolio, delivering forward-thinking analysis to support decision-making and strategy.
Conduct and/or support analysis for evaluation of leasing opportunities, capital projects, and tenant credit. Develop and present findings for Senior Management and Portfolio Managers as required.
Draft investment committee memorandums for leasing and dispositions as needed.
Assist with acquisitions and dispositions when applicable.
Play an integral role in identifying market trends and extracting insights for the regional portfolio, contributing to market commentary produced by Asset Managers. Present and review with Senior Management and Portfolio Managers as required.
Review and validate Yardi monthly financials/operating statements and variance reports. Understand cash flow requirements and distribution analysis.
Support ongoing loan compliance and credit/security monitoring activities.
Support asset-level business plans and valuation models.
Support Asset Manager coordination, production, and presentation of annual business plans to Senior Management and Portfolio Managers.
Build and maintain quarterly Argus models and support hold vs. sell analyses conducted by regional Asset Managers. Undertake model audits, quality assurance reviews, and support standard processes compliance.
Coordinate appraisal review and commentary by regional Asset Managers and conduct variance analysis to external appraisals.
Support Asset Manager in oversight of leasing, property management, and capital projects.
Handle the collaboration with leasing brokers, including the review of LOIs and preparation of financials analysis to support leasing recommendations.
Review and selectively audit asset-level financial reporting submitted from Property Managers, including capital commitment forecasts, expense recovery calculations, and funding projections. Oversee timeliness of Yardi financial and accounting information submitted from Property Managers.
Review quarterly re-forecast packages compiled by property management.
Support special projects and conduct ad-hoc analyses as required.
Work with MIM business leaders to communicate efficiently both internally and externally.
Required Qualifications
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Real Estate from top academic institution required.
Minimum of 2-4 years of validated experience preferably from one of the top capital markets brokerage firms or other institutional real estate organizations.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, creation of templates) and Argus Enterprise. Experience with real estate accounting systems, experience with Yardi a plus.
Knowledge of real estate investment, asset management, accounting and administration concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
Capable of handling challenging priorities and maintaining strong attention to detail under deadlines.
Outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills (both quantitative and qualitative).
Able to efficiently work in a team-oriented environment and partner with different functional groups.
Strong work ethic, a high level of integrity, and the desire to take initiative.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational, time management and priority setting skills.
