Job Overview Lead Carpenters play a key role in shaping client relationships and upholding CN’s reputation for quality and reliability. We are seeking an

experienced Carpenter

to take ownership of onsite work for commercial and residential projects, with a

defined path to grow into a Superintendent role as the company expands.

In this role, you will perform

hands-on carpentry and remodeling , help coordinate subcontractors and crews, support project schedules, enforce safety and quality standards, and increasingly serve as a point of contact for clients in the field. The ideal candidate brings strong communication and client‑facing skills, with accountability for delivering high‑quality work today and the ambition to lead full project sites as a Superintendent in the future.

Key Responsibilities

Perform and oversee day‑to‑day carpentry and remodeling work, including framing, drywall, doors/windows, trim, and finishes.

Partner closely with the Project Manager to align on progress, resolve issues, and meet project goals.

Help coordinate subcontractors and field staff, and participate in preconstruction start‑up and coordination meetings with subcontractors.

Serve as a professional onsite contact for clients and consultants as responsibilities grow over time.

Demonstrate teamwork, adaptability, initiative, and dependability in daily problem‑solving and project execution.

Build strong professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members while upholding CN’s standards.

Scheduling & Documentation

Prepare basic daily project reports with supporting documentation and photos as directed.

Support coordination of inspections, permits, and testing requirements with subcontractors and agencies.

Help maintain and update as‑built information throughout the project lifecycle.

Safety Management

Follow and promote jobsite safety programs with a focus on zero incidents.

Ensure safe use of tools, equipment, and temporary protections in work areas.

Proactively identify and communicate safety risks to maintain compliance and protect all workers.

Quality Control

Perform and review work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and codes.

Participate in punch list walks and complete corrective actions throughout the project.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.

Leadership: Shows clear potential to inspire confidence, motivate teams, and build accountability across field staff and subcontractors as responsibilities increase.

Communication: Clear and professional in client interactions; able to align project stakeholders and team members effectively.

Problem‑Solving: Thinks critically and resolves issues quickly to keep projects moving forward.

Organization: Prioritizes tasks and manages time effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

Client‑Focused: Dedicated to building trust and maintaining long‑term client relationships.

Adaptability: Adjusts smoothly to changing project conditions, schedules, and requirements.

Initiative: Proactive in anticipating project needs and taking ownership of outcomes.

Dependability: Reliable in meeting commitments, maintaining consistency, and following through under pressure.

Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years of verifiable carpentry/remodeling experience in commercial and/or residential construction, with some history of leading tasks or small crews.

Background in sectors such as gas stations, retail, multifamily, or tenant improvements is a plus.

Clear desire and ability to grow into a Superintendent role overseeing full onsite operations.

Safety Credentials: OSHA training and other relevant safety certifications strongly preferred.

Software Requirements: Basic proficiency with smartphones/tablets and willingness to learn tools such as Procore, MS Project/Excel, and Bluebeam as responsibility grows.

Time Off: Paid time off and company‑recognized holidays.

Travel Support (if required for projects): Per diem for lodging and meals, plus mileage or travel costs as applicable.
