Position Summary
The role reports to the VP of Finance and is responsible for developing accurate, timely, and competitive quotations by analyzing technical requirements, cost drivers, and operational inputs. Partnering cross-functionally, the position ensures pricing aligns with margin targets, company policies, and strategic sales objectives. Responsibilities
Review and analyze RFQs to understand customer requirements, specifications, volumes, delivery timelines, and applicable heat treat processes. Develop accurate, competitive quotations within established turnaround times (typically 48–72 hours) to support sales objectives. Interpret technical drawings and process requirements to ensure accurate and compliant pricing. Prepare detailed pricing calculations using Excel-based cost models aligned with established procedures for Automotive and General Industrial operations. Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to gather cost inputs, validate assumptions, and resolve clarifications. Ensure all quotes comply with company pricing policies, margin targets, approval workflows, and ethical standards. Identify, assess, and document risks, constraints, and exceptions within quotations; support negotiations through alternative pricing scenarios and revisions. Maintain accurate quote records, revisions, and RFQ activity within Salesforce to support reporting, forecasting, and pipeline management. Track quote volumes, win/loss results, and sales dollars by job and plant to assist with forecasting and sales follow-up. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, ad hoc projects, and maintain professionalism, fiscal responsibility, and adherence to company policies and procedures. Qualifications
This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders. 4-year college degree in Finance, Sales & Marketing, Metallurgy/Material Science, or equivalent experience. Minimum 2 - 5 years of quoting experience. Must be capable of interpreting blueprints and specifications. Proficiency in oral and written communication for interfacing with top management levels, various plant personnel, and the sales team. Demonstrated ability for attention to detail and accuracy of work. Must possess advanced excel skill and have a high degree of understanding of basic math and algebraic functions. Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Physical & Mental Demands
Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at a desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment. Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions. Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions. Ability to lift 35 lbs. May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc. Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions. Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc. Ability to hear in person and via phone.
