role responsible for overseeing and standardizing
change order and claims accounting
across a multi-entity portfolio. This position plays a critical role in protecting revenue recognition, identifying financial risk tied to project performance, and serving as a key finance partner to operations and executive leadership. The role operates at a
corporate level , supporting multiple subsidiaries rather than individual projects. Key Responsibilities
Serve as the corporate subject-matter expert for
ASC 606 revenue recognition , with a primary focus on
change orders and claims accounting . Review and assess complex construction contracts, change orders, and claims to ensure appropriate revenue recognition and GAAP compliance. Identify early warning indicators of projects at risk, including growing unbilled receivables (CIE) and margin erosion. Partner with business units, project teams, and corporate leadership to evaluate disputed change orders and claims. Prepare and review technical accounting memos supporting revenue recognition positions. Collaborate with legal counsel, third-party claims consultants, and auditors as needed. Standardize change order and claims accounting practices across operating entities. Act as a liaison between corporate finance and business unit controllers on matters related to claims, disputes, and revenue recognition. Support executive reporting by providing clear, actionable insights related to project risk, financial exposure, and recoverability. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 7+ years of progressive experience
in accounting or finance within a
construction or general contracting environment .
