About The Role Under general supervision of the VP Commercial Relationship Manager, the Business Banking Specialist provides direct assistance to Loan Officers for onboarding new business banking accounts and business banking related products, including promotion and support of involvement in the Commercial Card program.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for onboarding of business banking clients by ensuring clients receive exceptional service during the sales and product onboarding functions.

Assists the Commercial Relationship Managers with ongoing client needs, including opening depository accounts, initial setup and implementation of business banking and treasury management products and customer maintenance.

Follows bank policy and procedure with customer and account onboarding; proactively follows up on pending items, communicating with branch and deposit operations personnel as appropriate.

Proactively market products and services offered by the Bank including deposit accounts, payment cards and other treasury management services as appropriate.

Work closely with Commercial Relationship Managers to provide product expertise, client and sales support.

Communicates effectively with clients, potential clients, internal departments, and other bank personnel.

Anticipate customer needs, respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner, and ensure an excellent experience for the customer.

Maintain service level expectations as defined by the bank.

Performs related duties as assigned and participate in Bank related and community volunteer events as well as business development related activities.

Become familiar with and understand the bank’s loan policy manual.

Review commercial loan files to ensure all necessary documents are provided and properly prepared, including appraisals, organizational documents, title insurance, property insurance, etc.

Maintain virtual folders for preparation of document production and scanning to internal systems.

Maintain a working knowledge of credit authorization documents and applicable worksheets to assist commercial loan officer with completion.

Represent the division as a subject matter expert for all Commercial Card-related solutions internally and externally.

Support the payables solution approach and demonstrate how it fits in with a customer’s broader procure to pay approach.

Participate in business development meetings and effectively communicate one on one to foster collaboration.

Manage and lead Tier Prospect Report found on Power BI, according to local leadership’s annual production goals.

Work with the division’s Chief Banking Officer and local Leadership to identify and scale best practices through the entire sales/support cycle.

Support staff and clients with the Commercial Card application and onboarding processes.

Provide first line support for operational, onboarding, and customer support questions; encourage customers to use all available self-service tools.

Comply with Bank policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Regular and predictable attendance to accomplish job duties and provide in-person contact with customers.

Employees are required to actively use the service pledge in all customer encounters.

About You Education And Experience

High school diploma or equivalency

Two or more years of experience in a financial institution with broad exposure to products, services, and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficiency with use of personal computers and associated software, including Word and Excel.

Excellent grammatical, punctuation, spelling, and editing skills.

Exhibit professional and friendly attitude; strong communications and interpersonal skills to address customer questions and concerns.

Ability to handle multiple tasks moving quickly from one task to another without loss of accuracy or composure.

Detail oriented, able to perform repetitive work with consistency and accuracy, and to find and correct errors. Able to communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing.

Demonstrated ability to manage time and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Able to learn all loan functions as required.

Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.

Ability to travel to customers, potential customers and First Security Bank branches/departments.

Maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to our insurer.

Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency situation. The job may involve lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently, and requires close visual acuity for data preparation, transcription, and machine/inspection tasks. The work environment is indoors in a climate-controlled shared area with moderate noise.

Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and geographic location.
