Brix Paving Northwest Inc is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services critical to the success of our paving and civil construction projects. Material & Equipment Procurement Source, quote, and purchase construction materials, tools, and equipment (e.g., concrete, steel, piping, electrical components, finishes). Issue and manage purchase orders; track deliveries to job sites. Verify that materials comply with specifications, drawings, and submittal requirements. Vendor Management Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors. Solicit and compare multiple bids to ensure cost-effective purchases. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to pricing, quality, or delivery. Cost Control & Budgeting Collaborate with project managers and estimators to align purchases with job budgets. Identify cost-saving opportunities through negotiated pricing, bulk purchases, or material alternatives. Review invoices against purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies. Scheduling & Logistics Coordinate delivery schedules with field supervisors to meet project timelines. Monitor lead times and plan for long-lead items to prevent delays. Arrange freight and manage returns or replacements for incorrect or damaged items. Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in construction purchasing, procurement, or supply chain coordination. Knowledge of civil construction materials and specifications is strongly preferred. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office and purchasing or project management software. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. Valid driver s license and ability to travel locally as needed. Benefits
