
This is a hybrid position based in San Diego County, California, with office work regularly required (at least 3 days per week) at our office in Del Mar, as well as field work throughout California, Mexico and other global locations. Early morning, late night, and weekend work–and as well as occasional travel are expected. The Marketing Coordinator will support our mission by helping manage content, digital campaigns, and online platforms that connect people to our work and drive meaningful change.
This role is ideal for a creative, organized, and mission-driven marketer who enjoys working across content creation, digital tools, and communications—and who’s excited to contribute their skills to a nonprofit making real-world impact.
Key Responsibilities
Strategize, manage, and schedule content using a social media management platform (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout, Buffer, or similar) Create and coordinate engaging content across platforms, including photography, video, editing, and graphic design Support and manage digital advertising campaigns (Google, Meta, Bing), particularly those focused on change management, fundraising, and awareness-building Plan, schedule, and execute email marketing campaigns to engage supporters and stakeholders Manage basic WordPress website updates, including content edits, page updates, and light troubleshooting Support and maintain our Shopify storefront, including product updates and basic site management Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, or related field Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities A strong communicator with a creative eye and attention to detail Organized, adaptable, and eager to learn Motivated by purpose and excited to support a mission you believe in Collaborative, adaptable, and detail-oriented approach to work Spanish language skills a major plus. Bilingual highly preferred Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position could involve working in physically demanding and environmentally challenging conditions, including: Exposure to high heat, humidity, and other variable weather conditions. Opportunity for surfing, snorkeling, swimming and boating in urban and remote coastal areas. Extensive hiking over uneven, steep, or rugged terrain. Regular lifting and carrying of equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Performing tasks for extended periods in remote outdoor settings with limited amenities. Must have or be able to obtain a valid California driver license and a valid U.S. passport or U.S. work visa. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to use their own vehicle.
