Overview Note: This is a freelance role with an anticipated 2-3 month booking duration.

We’re looking for a print & catalog-focused Art Director with a strong background in creating social, editorial, and traditional campaign content in a high-volume environment. You bring bold, cross-platform ideas and thrive in every stage of the creative process—from concept to execution.

Your creativity goes beyond the typical Art Director role. Whether you're passionate about photography, dabble in podcast production, or spend weekends building a TikTok following, we welcome your side hustles and unique interests!

Responsibilities

Collaborate with copywriters, strategists, producers, editors, and animators to elevate creative work across multiple clients

Know when and how to engage various departments, blurring the lines between Media, Strategy, Creative, and Production

Develop compelling, thumb-stopping social content

Anticipate creative and strategic challenges offer innovative solutions

Think big—push boundaries and explore new creative territories

Adapt visual styles across diverse brands, audiences, and media formats while juggling multiple projects

Stay current on industry trends, media, and cultural insights to inform visual direction

Craft and present creative concepts and decks to internal teams and clients

Foster a high-energy, collaborative team environment

Review production work for accuracy and quality before final delivery

Oversee internal and third-party/vendor creative productions

Integrate AI-driven tools into creative and production processes to boost efficiency, elevate content quality, and stay ahead of emerging trends in technology and storytelling

Qualifications

Experience in an advertising agency, creative studio, or content production environment

Creative Versatility: Proven ability to concept and execute across a wide range of formats—social, digital, video, print, and integrated campaigns

Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated understanding of brand strategy and how to translate insights into compelling visual storytelling

Portfolio: A strong, diverse online portfolio showcasing conceptual thinking, design execution, and cross-platform work is required

Technical Proficiency:

Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

Familiarity with motion graphics tools (After Effects, Premiere Pro) is a plus

Understanding of Figma or other collaborative design tools is a bonus

Production Knowledge: Experience working with production teams, photographers, directors, and editors

Ability to art direct on set and during post-production

Presentation Skills: Comfortable presenting ideas to internal teams and clients, with the ability to clearly articulate creative rationale

Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities

Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional teams with copywriters, strategists, producers, and developers

Trend Awareness: Up to date on design, pop culture, and social media trends, with the ability to apply them creatively and appropriately

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, Visual Communication, or a related field preferred

Compensation Range: $55 - $90 per hour. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
