Location and Travel Candidate must reside in CA, CO, GA, HI, MD, OR, or WA. Relocation assistance may be available. The position allows up to 3 days per week in‑office.

Technical Summary Senior Director position is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and overseeing KP’s enterprise cybersecurity architecture.

Job Summary Senior management level employee primarily responsible for guiding the development and maintenance of the enterprise IT technology direction and providing overall direction to enterprise architects and business leaders in the development of IT architecture frameworks.

Essential Responsibilities

Direct operations of multiple units and departments by identifying customer and operational needs, translating business strategy into actionable requirements, and ensuring products meet customer expectations.

Maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning cross‑functional resource plans with business objectives; oversee recruitment, selection, and development of talent; build organizational capacity.

Develop and maintain the enterprise IT technology direction by leveraging technology direction to develop target state architecture and drive decision‑making.

Direct the development and management of strategic architectural direction.

Oversee the process for defining, communicating, and implementing architecture standards, guidelines, and statements of direction.

Guide research on industry standards and technologies to ensure business needs are met.

Ensure the establishment of architectural best practices that guide the design of technology solutions.

Direct the program for development and maintenance of enterprise‑level IT architecture across the organization by shaping the architecture strategy within assigned domain(s).

Facilitate architects and business leaders in the definition of target state architectures aligned to technology direction across areas (for example, application, data, security, infrastructure).

Ensure architectural change requests or exceptions are managed appropriately.

Oversee the development of architecture designs in accordance with IT delivery processes and governance requirements.

Ensure processes are in place to drive adoption of new technology, including identifying organizational and financial impacts of proposed technology strategies.

Partner with IT and business senior leadership to influence technology and business investments.

Champion innovative technologies to improve productivity and drive new opportunities.

Provide guidance and direction to assigned domain(s) in the adoption of architecture practices by communicating and educating others throughout the organization, including senior leadership, on architecture methodologies, governance, and standards.

Provide direction to ensure continuous improvement of the company’s architecture practices and drive consensus in adopting changes to these practices.

Direct the development and execution of an architecture communication plan to influence stakeholders inside and outside IT on the benefits of architecture practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum six (6) years supervisory experience.

Minimum four (4) years managing operating budgets and/or project financials.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, Business, or related technical field and minimum twelve (12) years IT experience delivering technical solutions, including at least minimum four (4) years in IT architecture. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

Four (4) years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above).

Five (5) years experience managing the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise‑scale, high volume, high availability systems.

Four (4) years experience establishing and documenting standards, guidelines, and best practices.

Three (3) years experience with commercial off‑the‑shelf package integration.

Three (3) years information security experience.

Three (3) years experience working with health systems.
