Marketing Operations Specialist
The Marketing Operations Specialist at Louisville Geek will play a key role in executing our marketing strategy by delivering high-quality marketing assets across digital, email, social, and event channels. This position is well‑suited for someone who excels in content production, campaign execution, analytics, and vendor coordination. You will support multiple business units by translating strategic goals into effective marketing output. Prior experience in the IT or Managed Service Provider (MSP) industry is strongly preferred.
You will be responsible for driving consistent marketing execution, including SEO‑focused content development, email campaign management, social media engagement, event coordination, and community involvement initiatives. This role works closely with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders to support organizational growth and enhance brand visibility.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Content Production and Optimization
Analyze SEMrush trends and conduct ongoing keyword research to identify high‑impact topics aligned with core service offerings.
Write and publish 2–3 SEO‑optimized blog posts per week to support website visibility and lead generation efforts.
Monitor blog performance and adjust content strategy based on keyword opportunities and analytics insights.
Manage, update, and optimize articles within the Louisville Geek Help Center, ensuring content accuracy, readability, and metadata optimization.
Email Marketing
Design, segment, and automate email campaigns including nurture sequences, onboarding communications, and feature spotlights using Constant Contact.
Maintain and clean email lists, tags, and intent signals to improve deliverability and engagement.
Support campaign performance tracking and reporting.
Event Execution
Coordinate and promote client‑facing events including Lunch & Learns, Office Hours, and Roundtables.
Manage event logistics, vendor participation, sponsorship assets, swag, and attendee communications.
Assist with post‑event recaps, follow‑up campaigns, and content distribution.
Social Media and Paid Media
Execute social media campaigns across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and Google My Business.
Manage paid campaigns including retargeting, promoted posts, and lead magnet distribution.
Support performance tracking and creative asset coordination.
Community Engagement
Support community involvement programs, nonprofit partnerships, and association memberships.
Coordinate participation in local events and sponsorship opportunities.
Assist in maintaining relationships with community partners and industry organizations.
Manage vendor and distributor relationships to obtain co‑branded assets, swag, and campaign support.
Prepare and submit MDF (Marketing Development Fund) requests in collaboration with vendor partners.
Coordinate marketing‑related activities with vendor partners.
Reporting and Analytics
Track and report on campaign performance, SEO metrics, event outcomes, and social media engagement.
Maintain marketing data, digital assets, and content repositories.
Provide administrative support across marketing projects as needed.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
2+ years of hands‑on marketing experience in an agency, SaaS, IT, or MSP environment preferred.
Experience with SEMrush, Constant Contact, LinkedIn, and CMS/web publishing platforms.
Background in IT, cybersecurity, technology services, or MSP‑related marketing is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of SEO, keyword research, and digital content optimization.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience coordinating events and working with vendor partners.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing needs.
Proficiency in analytics tools and reporting on marketing performance.
Familiarity with IT services, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and managed services is a plus.
Comfortable engaging with clients, partners, and attendees during in‑person events and able to represent Louisville Geek professionally and confidently in social and networking environments, including travel to events, tradeshows, and conferences as needed.
