Job title : Compliance Specialist (NERC compliance /Power/Energy/Utilities industry) Role Overview
Develop, maintain, and administer an effective and thorough audit process for the OCC (Operations Control Center). Support data systems to help ensure that OCC Operators are remotely operating the power plants in full compliance with all North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC), ISO, Interconnection and Contractual Agreements. Responsibility Breakdown
20% - Maintain OCC quality assurance program, ensuring clean data for OCC Automated KPIs, generating monthly OCC KPI reports 15% - Perform inquiries for discrepancies of OCC KPI data, including analysis of OCC event management of real-time incidences 15% - Track and monitor progress on remediation activities, including conducting independent verification and documentation of completion 10% - Develops and conducts regular internal quality insurance reviews and offers a summary of recommendations for improvements to enhance OCC performance and regulatory compliance 5% - Assist with the testing of newly enhanced Monarch tools and alerts implemented in OCC 5% - Perform procedure review and updates, maintaining standardization of information and risk management of discrepancies in instruction 5% - Assist with the integration of new OCC procedures 5% - Provide oversight and management of OCC Visitor Logs for CIP compliance 5% - Coordinate and participates in the timely completion of analytical and administrative tasks, activities, and requests for information; establishes processes and procedures to enable more efficient and accurate future reporting requirements; prepares reports for internal and external use 5% - Disseminate information and responds to requests for information in a timely manner; makes recommendations for new or changes to existing programs or processes 5% - Track requests and modifications for Indji Weather Service administration 5% - Other duties as assigned (Do not delete from job description) Job Qualifications
Education/Experience Requires Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or technical discipline or equivalent work experience Strong understanding of renewables control center operations and its dynamics 3+ years work experience in renewable operations environment with advancing responsibilities Independent, analytical, self-motivated with the ability to interact with other departments and external sources Must be able to clear a 7-year background check Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Requires knowledge of State and Federal regulations, NERC Standards and company procedures Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Professional Suite. Solid background in the development and use of Excel Spreadsheets, MS-SQL databases, and Word documents to professionally create, manage and report all compliance documentation Excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills Demonstrate good work habits, including but not limited to attendance, and maintaining a neat and orderly work environment
