Overview We are looking for a Group Sales Manager at the Seabird Ocean Resort & Spa / Mission Pacific Beach Resort to lead a team delivering best‑in‑class experiences and engaging with internal and external partners. The role requires both office and remote work, site visits and pre‑planning meetings, and reports directly to the Director of Group Sales.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain long‑term relationships in the assigned geographical market, selling, identifying, and converting opportunities.

Drive revenue by providing thoughtful proposals to inquiries.

Proactively develop relationships for future business opportunities.

Develop and execute a SMART plan.

Host hotel tours, negotiate contractual terms, and facilitate communication before, during, and after events with planning teams.

Lead and support sales and event initiatives as a department leader.

Work closely with sales, catering, administrative assistants, and support staff.

Solicit complex accounts through direct sales and marketing contacts.

Yield business and generate total revenue based on market demand, pattern, seasonality, and value.

Participate in and lead sales and event meetings, and other staff meetings.

Organize and participate in client entertainment/FAMs, special promotions, tours, site inspections, and tradeshows/conferences.

Assist in creating and implementing special promotions for direct sales segments.

Maximize sales occupancy and rates to increase profits.

Prospect new business using phone, outside sales calls, tradeshow attendance, and industry participation.

Generate and secure business through aggressive sales efforts targeting national and local corporate business from Hyatt’s National Account base.

Establish and build successful relationships that generate sales opportunities.

Effectively communicate client requirements; ensure accurate information between client and hotel.

Ensure business is handed over accurately and timely for high‑level service delivery.

Analyze and conduct market research to understand competitive set, market conditions, and trends to maximize revenue.

Negotiate, prepare, and execute contracts that meet business plan objectives.

Problem‑solve and develop solutions to meet client requirements.

Maintain or exceed sales goals assigned by DOSM.

Assist DOSM on special projects as assigned.

Travel to tradeshows, conferences, and development events as required.

Qualifications

Strong desire to satisfy the needs of others in a high‑demand, fast‑paced environment.

Refined verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Minimum 2‑5 years of hotel sales experience in a full‑service hotel.

Proficient general computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of Envision Sales and other Hyatt systems preferred.

Training in selling, negotiating, business writing, and presentation.

Proven performance achieving assigned sales productivity goals.

Upscale or luxury hotel experience preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Business Management

preferred.

High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, effective communication, and ability to improve the bottom line.

Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English.

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, multitasking ability, and strong attention to detail.

Ability to travel for tradeshows, conferences, and development.

Excellent communication and computer skills.

The salary range for this position is $70,304.00 - $79,400.00. The ultimate compensation will be based on experience and education.
