Position Summary The Finish Superintendent is responsible for managing and supervising the finishing group while maintaining safety protocols and overseeing the final construction processes. You’ll ensure that all finish work meets the established tolerances and quality standards aligned with our company values and goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise finish subcontractors and monitor the quality and tolerances of their work daily.
Ensure all finish schedules align with specification manuals and subcontractor scopes.
Prepare and circulate punch lists, ensuring completion before inspections and turnover to Property Management.
Assist the Project Superintendent with project scheduling related to finished apartments and common amenities.
Engage with local jurisdiction officials to understand certificate of occupancy procedures.
Oversee and manage apartment turnover to Property Management.
Secure the job site and handle new building materials.
Order necessary punch parts and supplies for inspections and turnover.
Coordinate with local utility companies for final utility connections.
Supervise laborers and assist with daily tasks.
Obtain the Certificate of Occupancy promptly.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; a degree in Construction Management is a plus.
5‑7 years of experience in multifamily or single‑family construction in a supervisory role, focusing on finish trade work (e.g., painting, millwork, MEP trims).
Proficiency in reading, writing, interpreting, and analyzing technical and business documents.
Strong presentation skills for engaging with employees, vendors, and the public.
Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, and apply algebra and geometry concepts.
Problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret instructions in multiple formats.
Intermediate experience with MS Office and MS Project.
Basic understanding of civil, architectural, and structural design; knowledge of MEP design and local/state building codes.

Physical Demands
90% of the work day will be on the construction site in and out of apartments.
Occasionally must use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands/arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend or lift up to 75 pounds.
Regularly must stand, walk, talk and hear.
Close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus are required.
Work Environment
Normaly works in an environment with loud noise.
Rarely must work in humid conditions, near fumes/airborne particles, near toxic/caustic chemicals, near risk of electrical shock and around vibration.
Occasionally must work near moving mechanical parts and in high/precarious places.
Regularly must work in outdoor weather conditions.
