Purpose of Job To provide comprehensive support and guidance within the Center for Computing in the Liberal Arts (CCLA). As a member of the CCLA team, the primary goal is to foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment for students, faculty, and staff across all disciplines. This role involves facilitating the effective usage of computing resources to aid individuals in achieving their research, academic, and personal objectives.
Responsibilities
Lead one-on-one consultations with clients (both scheduled and drop-ins)
Use resources available to help collaborators, whether online, or via books, journals, class notes, etc.
Assist collaborators with programming, general computing or learning how their computer can help them reach various goals
Serve as an information center and provide computing resources and/or guidance
Attend training or workshops as scheduled
Promote the CCLA across campus
Foster a culture of computing at Doane
Special Skills or Knowledge Required
Excellent time management and communication skills
Enthusiasm in Computing or related fields
Willingness to learn new information
Problem-solving skills
Recommendation from a professor
Compensation and Hours Minimum of 6 hours/week; maximum of 17 hours/week.
$15.00 per hour
